Fred’s early support of Ethereum, Coinbase, and protocol infrastructure speaks for itself. He’s been a consistent voice for open networks, and his conviction in messaging as core infrastructure aligns perfectly with our mission.
We invested in XMTP because messaging is one of the most critical primitives on the internet and we believe it needs a reboot for a world of AI and agents. Today, messaging is controlled by a handful of large companies and is completely siloed. XMTP is rebuilding it from first principles: secure, decentralized, identity-native, and open for developers.
